photo-tour “I live!”

“I live!” shows portraits of sixteen different women, whose diagnosis of ovarian cancer was given at least eight years ago. They are medically classified as long-term survivors. With such a disease as ovarian cancer this group of patients is something special, because the life expectancy of the affected people is very low – often due to a late diagnosis. However, the initiator of these events, Prof. Dr. Jalid Sehouli, explains: “Thanks to groundbreaking improvements in the therapy of ovarian cancer, the chances of survival are drastically changing, which gives reasons to hope.”

The photos present long-term survivors, who were asked to show what motivated them and gave them strength throughout therapy. This lead to unique, individual and partly humorous portraits.

The pictures travel in the moment as a touring exhibition all across germany. All current dates and locations and detailed background information can be found here.
